This is the most effective way to build your own home, and a great solution for many people with DIY skills. With a kitset purchase, we supply plans and all the major building materials for your home, then you take total charge of the construction process. We provide everything from frames, trusses and exterior cladding to the plumbing supply including tapware and even the kitchen and kitchen appliances you’ll require - all at a considerably lower cost than if you purchased the individual items yourself.
As we only work with NZ's most reputable building material suppliers, you benefit from our bulk buying power. All your building materials are sourced and delivered from local suppliers closest to your area, right across New Zealand.
You then project manage the building of your new home yourself. We can provide you with guidelines and advice, but it is up to you to contract out the construction work you need done and oversee the work. This will usually include a qualified builder and then the sub-trades such as the electrician, plumber, painter and drainlayer.
Latitude Homes can supply you with a list of recommended builders who usually have plenty of contacts in the sub-trades to complete the necessary work. We will also provide a list of what is required and will help guide you through any problems that you may experience.
If you are confident of your practical DIY abilities and have the time available, you’ll be able to make additional savings by doing some of the labour yourself.
